Construction worker falls to their death at Virginia Tech, another injured

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia Tech says a construction worker has fallen to their death on November 6. According to a release, a construction worker at the wind tunnel renovation project near the former Randolph Hall on Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg Campus died after a fall. A second worker was also injured; however, the current status of their injuries is unknown. The construction sites located on the campus are under the control of the contractor and the two workers involved in the incident are not university employees. The incident is still under investigation by University Police. Virginia Tech has released the following statement regarding the incident. “Virginia Tech extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased worker.” WFXR News will update you with more information as it becomes available.
