Craft + Design to return to Main Street Station featuring more than 170 artists
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmonders can get a head start on holiday shopping with the return of Craft + Design at Main Street Station this weekend.
The annual contemporary craft show, hosted by the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, will feature more than 170 artists from across the country.
Shoppers can browse a variety of works including jewelry, wearable art, ceramics and furniture.
Jordan Roeder, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond executive director, says the annual craft show is unique for the Richmond area.

"In terms of the region, this is one of the largest and maybe one of the ones that has the broadest array of work and diversity in the types of media and the types of artists you'll see here," Roeder told 8News. "We are often compared to places like the Smithsonian and Philadelphia craft show, but locally we're kind of the biggest one."
This year's featured artist is Yeonsoo Kim, a New Hampshire based ceramic artist originally from South Korea. Roeder says Kim will be holding artist demonstrations during general admission hours on Saturday.

"We were really attracted to the playfulness of his work, and the scale of his work," she said. "It's something very different from other featured artists we've done in the past. So, we're just excited to show a different side of the ceramics art world."
