Dozen New Kent neighborhoods may see week of water pressure issues due to tank cleaning

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A dozen New Kent County neighborhoods may experience water pressure issues for a week while a local tank is cleaned.

Between Friday, Feb. 27 and Friday, March 6, the Farms of New Kent Water Storage Tank will be out of service so that it can be cleaned, according to a Feb. 25 Facebook post from the county.

Residents of multiple neighborhoods in the area of this tank may notice impacts to their water pressure. Those neighborhoods include:

  • The Arbors
  • Bel Green
  • Brickshire
  • Deerlake
  • Greenwood Estates
  • The Groves
  • Kenwood Estates
  • Oakwood Villas
  • Pomeroy Park
  • Quinton Estates
  • Rochambeau Estates
  • Viniterra

Officials stressed the importance of both water conservation and fire prevention during this period, calling it "paramount."
