Driver dead after crashing into tree in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver is dead after police say they crashed into a tree in Albemarle County on Wednesday.
Just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, units with both the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue were called to the 6700 block of Jefferson Mill Road for a single-vehicle crash involving a tree.
First responders tried to save the involved driver's life using multiple life-saving measures. However, that driver died at the scene.
Their identity is being held until their family is notified of their death.
