Dump truck driver receives over a dozen citations after traffic stop by Chesterfield Police
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A dump truck driver who was hauling asphalt received over a dozen citations after Chesterfield Police officers pulled the vehicle over.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, the Chesterfield County Police Department announced in a social media post that officers recently found and removed a "significant public safety threat" after stopping a dump truck that was hauling asphalt.
According to police, when the vehicle was inspected, it was found to have "critical safety failures" and was placed out of service.

The driver and dump truck received the following citations:
- No commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Wheel bearing leak
- Brake inoperable
- Audible air leak
- 20% brake rule
- Sock adjuster inoperable
- No/insufficient DOT marking
- Exposed belt tires
- Less than 2/32 tread depth
- Three brakes out of adjustment of the required eight
