Early voting starts today for Virginia June 17 primaries: What to know
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Early voting is officially underway in Virginia as of Friday, giving voters across the Commonwealth the opportunity to weigh in on key races ahead of the June 17 primaries.
Ballots are now available for several high-profile positions, including lieutenant governor, attorney general and state delegate. While the governor's race won't appear on the primary ballot -- since both major parties have already selected their nominees -- voters still have critical decisions to make in other contests.
Early voting runs through Friday, June 14. Virginians can cast their ballots in person at their local general registrar’s office or at designated early voting locations. For those unable to vote in person, mail-in ballots can be requested until Thursday, June 6.

For attorney general, Republican incumbent Jason Miyares is expected to face the winner of the Democratic primary between Jay Jones and Shannon Taylor.
