Fire blazes from second floor of Chesterfield home

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A fire blazed from the second floor of a home in Chesterfield County Tuesday night, which officials believe was caused by an electrical issue.

Just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews responded to a call for a house fire in the 2400 block of Lancraft Road.

The first firefighters who arrived on scene found smoke coming from the home and a fire on the second floor, according to officials. The fire was marked under control in about 15 minutes.

One person was home at the time and made it out safely, a Chesterfield Fire and EMS spokesperson said. There were no injuries.

Officials believe that the cause of the fire was electrical.
