Five residents displaced after garage fire severely damages Chesterfield homes

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A garage fire in a home caused significant damage, leading the residents to be displaced in Chesterfield on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m., Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to the 1700 block of Providence Villas Court for reports of a structure fire.

Once on scene, crews found a garage fire that had spread into the home. The home sustained significant damage, displacing the residents.

The fire also caused damage to the side of the home connected to the house and minor damage to the two homes behind.

Officials stated that five residents within the surrounding units will also be evcuated for the night as a precaution.

There have been no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
