StormTracker8: Very mild Saturday night; showers & storms for Easter Sunday
Richmond, Va (WRIC) -- Central Virginia has been enjoying well above average conditions the last several days, but that warm stretch will be ending on Easter Sunday, details below.
Tonight’s forecast on this Saturday night calls for increasing clouds overnight, very mild temperatures dipping down into the middle to upper 60s and breezy conditions from time to time.
Tomorrow’s forecast for our Easter Sunday calls for mostly cloudy skies, mild temperatures rising into the middle 70s by Noon, then dropping into the 60s during the afternoon, windy conditions from time to time and likely showers and thunderstorms in association with our latest weather system, a cold front that will be sweeping through the state of Virginia. The showers and storms will be happening from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I can’t entirely rule out a stronger storm or two, which may prompt a severe thunderstorm warning or two for damaging wind gusts, but overall, we are not anticipating widespread severe weather on Sunday, but widespread rain is on the way, which will be very beneficial for the extreme levels of tree pollen and ongoing drought situation.

Tomorrow night into Monday morning, we will see our skies clearing out significantly, after 6:00 p.m. Sunday and cooler temperatures returning once again, dipping down into the 40s by Monday morning.
We will see anywhere from approximately 0.25 to 0.50 inches of rainfall from Sunday’s cold frontal passage.
Monday will be a seasonable day, under mostly sunny skies, and highs 65 to 70 degrees.
Tuesday will be a cooler day, under mostly sunny skies, and highs around 60 degrees. Tuesday evening is the Home Opener for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, and you will want to have a sweatshirt or jacket on top of your other layers if you are heading out to CarMax Park.
Wednesday morning will be chilly areawide, starting off in the 30s, leading to a cool Wednesday afternoon, with highs 55 to 60 degrees, under mostly sunny skies.
Thursday morning will be chilly areawide, starting off between 35 to 40 degrees, leading to a warmer Thursday afternoon, with highs around 70 degrees, under mostly sunny skies.
Friday will be a fantastic weather day, under mostly sunny skies, and highs 75 to 80 degrees.
Looking ahead to next weekend, both Saturday and Sunday will be very warm, with afternoon temperatures rising into the 80s. Next Saturday afternoon features mostly sunny skies, while next Sunday afternoon features partly sunny skies.
