Flash flood warning issued for some Central Virginia areas

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A flash flood warning has been issued for some Central Virginia areas on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a warning is in effect for the following areas until 2 p.m. on Wednesday:
- Brunswick County
- Greensville County
- City of Emporia
- Sussex County
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 to 3 inches of rain have fallen in the warned area, with ongoing or expected flash flooding to begin shortly.
