Flash flood warning issued in several Central Virginia counties

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A flash flood warning is in effect across several Central Virginia localities Tuesday evening due to heavy rainfall.

The following localities are under a flash flood warning until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1:

  • Caroline County
  • Cumberland County
  • Fluvanna County
  • Goochland County
  • Hanover County
  • Louisa County
  • Powhatan County

A flash flood warning means that heavy downpours are expected to cause sudden flooding in the impacted areas.

Other Central Virginia localities are under a flood warning until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, which means flooding is likely due to excessive rain. This includes:
