Flash flood warning issued in some Central Virginia localities

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A flash flood warning has been issued for some Central Virginia localities Friday night as severe storms impact the area.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning for the following localities until 9 p.m. on Friday:
- Cumberland County
- Prince Edward County
The following localities are under a flash flood warning until 10:15 p.m. on Friday:
- Amelia County
- Dinwiddie County
- Nottoway County
The following localities are under a flash flood warning until 10:45 p.m. on Friday:
- Dinwiddie County
- Chesterfield County
- Colonial Heights
- Petersburg
A flash flood warning means that sudden flooding is either ongoing or imminent.
Officials urge residents to "turn around, don't drown" when driving through flooded areas.
