Former Hanover High Athletic Boosters club president accused of embezzlement, fraud

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The former president of a Hanover County high school's athletics club is accused of embezzling at least $1,000 from said club, among other fraud charges.
According to court documents, Janet Lynn Miller has been charged with embezzlement, credit card fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses. All three charges are felonies, with the associated funds listed as at least $1,000.
Miller is accused of stealing these funds from the Hanover High Athletics Boosters Club while serving as its president, according to Mackenzie Babichenko, the Hanover County Commonwealth's Attorney.
Former president of New Kent Girls Softball League charged with embezzlement
The offense date listed for all charges is Dec. 7, 2024.
Miller's next day in court is set for 9 a.m. on June 6.
