Gas prices in Richmond lower than last year
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Gasoline prices are dropping across the country. In Richmond and across Virginia, gas currently costs less than it did a year ago, according to data from AAA.
A release from AAA reported that the average gas price in Richmond is currently $2.92 per gallon — a 6-cent decrease from last month's $2.97. Prices are also 20 cents lower than they were at the same time last year.
Virginia's average gas prices currently match Richmond at $2.92, with a decrease of 5 cents in the last week.
In Central Virginia, the cheapest gas prices can be found in Prince George, Cumberland, Buckingham and Prince Edward counties, ranging from $2.75 to $2.82 per gallon.
The national average for regular gasoline currently sits at $3.05 per gallon, reflecting a 15-cent dip from last month.
