Gov. Youngkin taps Goochland Sheriff Creasey to serve on Virginia 9-1-1 Services Board

GOOCHLAND, Va. (WRIC) -- Goochland County is celebrating after Governor Glenn Youngkin appointed Goochland's own Sheriff Steven Creasey to the Virginia 9-1-1 Services Board.
The Virginia 9-1-1 Services Board itself is designed to develop the best practices in the Old Dominion's 9-1-1 call centers, and meanwhile, the Goochland Sheriff's Office is touting that its county will have a voice in statewide emergency service decisions.
More than a dozen cable company professionals and law enforcement officers make up the board, though all have an understanding to support future 9-1-1 and other public safety technologies.
Sheriff Creasey joins the ranks of law enforcement officials from Suffolk, Chesterfield County, Waynesboro and State Police, among other localities, and the sheriff's office said this appointment will enhance coordination between local and state emergency officials.
Creasey's appointment comes just in time for the next 9-1-1 Services Board meeting, which is scheduled for 1 pm. on Thursday, July 17.
