GRTC operates on limited basis on Tuesday due to icy conditions
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) service will operate on a limited basis on Tuesday due to the icy road conditions.
The morning of Tuesday, Jan. 27, GRTC announced in a social post that all bus services will operate on a limited basis due to the dangerous road conditions following the snow and ice storm that swept the Commonwealth over the weekend.
Riders should expect modified operations, and buses may need to load and unload from the street, per the transit company.
GRTC said the following schedule will be followed on Tuesday:
- Fixed Route: Begins at 9 a.m., running limited service
- LINK Microtransit: Begins at 9 a.m., running limited service
- Express: Canceled
- CARE Paratransit: Operating on regular schedule
The transit company previously suspended all bus routes on Monday, Jan. 26 “after consideration with road supervisors closely monitoring conditions.”
According to GRTC, CARE, CARE On-Demand and LINK will operate unless otherwise announced, but detours may also be necessary.
Richmond area residents and visitors can check GRTC’s website for service updates.
