Hanover County accepting nominations for 2025 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County is accepting nominations for the 2025 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards, which honors outstanding individuals and groups whose service has enhanced the quality of life across the county's communities. Hanover County is seeking nominations for the 2025 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards in the following categories: Spirit of One — Community setting: for an individual aged 19 years or older Spirit of One — School setting: for an individual aged 19 years or older Spirit of Youth: for an individual aged 18 years or younger or still in high school Spirit of Youth — Team: for a youth group or club whose members are 18 years or younger or still attending high school Spirit of Dedication: for an individual aged 60 years or older Spirit of Family: for two or more family members Spirit of Team: for two or more adult volunteers Spirit of Inspiration: for an individual who has volunteered for 20 years or more with a specific organization Commitment to Community: for a Hanover business that exemplifies strong community values and a sustained commitment to supporting the community Spirit of Faith — New for 2025: for a faith-based organization that exemplifies strong community values and a sustained commitment to supporting the community through volunteer service According to the county, those eligible for nomination include Hanover County residents and individuals or groups whose volunteer service benefits the citizens of Hanover County. All nominees will be recognized at the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards ceremony from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at Atlee High School. The ceremony will be free and open to the public and will include the announcement of award winners, music and light refreshments, according to the county.
