Hanover to open first regional section of Fall Line Trail
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be hosted by Hanover County on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of a Fall Line Trail segment.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 starting at 3 p.m. at 12439 Maple Street in Ashland. Officials will mark the opening of a 4.8-mile segment of the trail, which connects the Ashland Trolley Line Trail to Woodman Road in Henrico County.
There will be speakers in attendance from Hanover and Henrico counties, Ashland, Sports Backers, the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Central Virginia Transportation Authority, per a press release.

The opening of this segment marks the completion of Hanover's section of the trail, which is the first segment of the trail to connect three localities.
The Fall Line Trail, once finished, will be a paved and multi-use trail that stretches 43 miles from Ashland to Petersburg, through 7 localities.
