Henrico County awards contract for Wilder Middle School Stream Restoration project

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Board of Supervisors has awarded a contract for construction to begin on the Wilder Middle School Stream Restoration project.

KBS Earthworks, Inc., was awarded a $665,147.69 contract for the project during a board of supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

According to the meeting agenda, the project will include the installation of in-stream structures, floodplain bench grading, seeding and planting along 710 linear feet of "an unnamed tributary of Upham Brook."

The work is expected to begin in March with an estimated completion within 300 days later.

KBS Earthworks, Inc., included the lowest bid among two other contractors:

  • Summit Environmental Services, LLC, offered $944,631.10
  • Environmental Quality Resources, LLC, offered $1,117,356.80

"The final contract amount will be determined upon completion of the project by multiplying the actual unit quantities authorized by the County by the unit prices submitted in the contractor’s bid," the resolution reads in Tuesday night's meeting agenda.

The contract will reportedly be paid for using funds from the project budget.
