Henrico County Police to hold final rabies clinic of the year
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division will hold its final rabies vaccination clinic of 2025 this weekend.
The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 18, and will be located at the Henrico County Western Government Complex at 4301 E. Parham Road.
Before pet owners can meet with a veterinarian, they must register and pay $20 per vaccine at the cashier's office in the Administration Building.
The vaccination process will come with a rabies tag and a certificate of inoculation.
The clinic is not exclusive to Henrico County residents -- pets from all localities will be accepted -- but cats must be in carriers.
Under Virginia law, all dogs and cats over four months of age must be vaccinated for rabies.
"Henrico dog licenses will also be available for $10," the release from Henrico Police reads. "Licenses are valid for the life of the animal while the owner lives in Henrico and its rabies vaccinations are kept current."
Changes are also coming to the 2026 rabies clinics. There will now only be two rabies clinics annually. Next year's dates will be:
- Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Government Center (3820 Nine Mile Road)
- Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Henrico Government Center (4301 E. Parham Road)
