Henrico Police Animal Shelter to host pet adoption event in December
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will host a pet adoption event in December, hoping some of its animals can go home with a family for the holidays. The adoption event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the shelter, located at 10421 Woodman Road in the Glen Allen area. The goal is for the animals that are currently in their care to find a home so that they can spend the holidays with a family. Those who are interested in pet adoption will need to bring a photo ID. For the convenience of taking a pet home, a collar and leash or carrier is suggested, but not required. There are two sponsors for the spay and neuter surgeries of the animals -- the William A. Harrison Foundation and Furbish Thrift. The Henrico Humane Society will be sponsoring the adoption fees. All of the pets that will be available for adoption can be found by clicking here. For more information about the event, visit the shelter's website or call the shelter at 804-727-8807.
