HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Those experiencing homelessness now have access to additional resources and support through Henrico County's brand new $3.5 million "Success Center."

On Friday, Nov. 14, Henrico leaders and community members gathered to cut the ribbon on the new Flagler Housing Success Center, located within St. Joseph's Villa.

Officials described the Success Center as a "hub of resources" for those in the county who are experiencing homelessness.

Those resources include job readiness training, an educational kitchen and supplies meant to help ease the transition to stable housing. There are also large meeting spaces for training, the county said.

“It is gratifying to witness the life-changing work of an organization that is so focused on serving the needs of our neighbors,” said vice chair of the Henrico County Board of Supervisors and the Fairfield district's representative, Roscoe D. Cooper, III, at the ceremony on Friday. “For our friends at St. Joseph’s Villa, please know that Henrico County is grateful for your presence here and for the promise of hope and healing that you bring to so many in our community.”

The Success Center was a $3.5 million initiative, to which Henrico contributed over $250,000, officials said.

St. Joseph's Villa is also home to Henrico's Crisis Receiving Center, which offers treatment and other resources to youth who are experiencing mental health crises. The free, walk-in facility opened in early 2024.
