Hopewell roadway to close for emergency railroad repairs

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A Hopewell roadway will close on Monday for emergency repairs to its railroad crossing.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 16, Industrial Street will close to allow CSX Transportation to replace a broken rail, according to a press release from the city of Hopewell.

During this 12-hour period, no through traffic will be allowed.

"For everyone’s safety, drivers are asked to follow all posted detours and reduce speed in the construction zone," the city said in the release. "We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience as we work to improve the roadway."
