Hopewell’s annual Trunk or Treat returns with Halloween fun
HOPEWELL, Va (WRIC) -- Hopewell's annual spooky celebration is back this Halloween, promising a frightfully fun evening.
From 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, the city will hold its 2025 Trunk or Treat celebration in the gravel parking lot across from Hopewell Library, located at 209 E. Cawson Street.
"Celebrate Halloween Hopewell-style — where the fun is sweet, the music is live and the treats are plenty," the city said in an Oct. 29 press release.
Attendees of this family-friendly event can get a free pumpkin, free hot dogs and, of course, free candy. Any child accompanied by an adult will receive candy.

One pumpkin will be provided per family. A ticket is required to receive pumpkins or hot dogs. Said tickets can be picked up at the entrance to the event.
There will also be live music from the Outlaw Band and bouncy houses to enjoy.
"Families are encouraged to come dressed in their most creative costumes — and don’t forget to bring a big bag for all your sweet treasures," the city said.
Tobacco products and costume weapons are not permitted at this event.
For safety reasons, there will be no parking on either East Carson Street or Library Street from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween. Any and all vehicles found there during that time will be towed at the driver's expense.
