Kings Dominion to celebrate its 50th anniversary
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Kings Dominion will mark a major milestone on Saturday, May 3, as the amusement park will celebrate its 50th anniversary with festivities for the whole family.
Guests attending the 50th anniversary celebration will be receive a birthday button upon entry.
According to the theme park, the day kicks off with a performance from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Peppas band, who will play at the front gate just before the park opens at 11 a.m.
In addition, the KOS band, which played during the park’s original opening in 1975, will make a return to the Grand Bandstand. Their performances will continue throughout the day under the Eiffel Tower.
