Lane closures on Powhite Parkway for all-electronic tolling transition
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- There will be multiple lane closures on the Powhite Parkway in Richmond as the city crews work to transition to all-electronic tolling.
On Sunday, Feb. 22, the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA) announced that as Richmond transitions to all-electronic tolling, there will be multiple lane closures this week on the Powhite Parkway.
RMTA shared that there will be triple lane closures on multiple days throughout the week on the Powhite Parkway between the James River Bridge and Forest Hill Avenue.
The dates are listed below:
- Monday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 4 a.m.: Left and right lane closures on Powhite Parkway northbound
- Monday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 4 a.m.: Left and right lane closures on Powhite Parkway southbound
- Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. to Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 4 a.m.: Triple left lane closures on Powhite Parkway southbound
- Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. to Thursday, Feb. 26, at 4 a.m.: Triple right-lane closures on Powhite Parkway southbound
- Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. to Friday, Feb. 27, at 4 a.m.: Alternating triple lane closures on Powhite Parkway southbound
Motorists are encouraged by RMTA to pay attention to detour signs in the area and use caution while driving through work zones.
