Lightning strike takes down Prince Edward County Landfill’s scales, causing temporary closure

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After a lightning strike took out the Prince Edward County Landfill's scales, the county said the landfill will be closed temporarily for repairs.

According to Prince Edward County, a lightning strike took out the scales at the county's landfill that are used to weigh waste.

The Prince Edward County Landfill will reportedly be closed "until around midday" on Tuesday, July 15, while repairs are made.
