LIST: Central Va. schools closed, delayed Wednesday due to winter storm, other factors
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The first winter storm of 2025 continues to impact Virginians, whether it be through icy roadways or the lasting effects of power outages. Here's a list of Central Virginia school divisions that will be closed or delayed on Wednesday for those reasons. The following Central Virginia school districts will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 8: Caroline County Public Schools 12-month employees should report at 10 a.m. if possible. Chesterfield County Public Schools 12-month employees should report at 10 a.m. if possible. Cumberland County Public Schools Fluvanna County Public Schools Goochland County Public Schools Hanover County Public Schools Closed in part due to ongoing water issues. Henrico County Public Schools Closed in part due to ongoing water issues. 12-month employees should work remotely if possible. Louisa County Public Schools Mecklenburg County Public Schools Staff/teacher work day. Northumberland County Public Schools Powhatan County Public Schools Prince Edward County Public Schools Richmond City Public Schools Closed due to ongoing water issues. The following school districts will be open two hours late on Wednesday: Brunswick County Public Schools Colonial Heights Public Schools Maintenance & custodial staff should report on-time Dinwiddie County Public Schools Greensville County Public Schools Hopewell City Public Schools Essential staff should report on-time. Middlesex County Public Schools Nottoway County Public Schools Prince George County Public Schools Essential staff should report on-time.
