Louisa man accused of raping unconscious woman in 2015

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Louisa County man is accused of raping a young woman in California while she was unconscious 10 years ago.
On Monday, July 14, California's Napa County Sheriff's Office announced that it had made an arrest in a 2015 rape case two days prior.
"Our detectives flew across the country, from the Bay Area to Louisa, Virginia, to arrest a man for rape," the sheriff's office said. "The rape occurred in 2015, but we are dedicated to protecting the community."
In 2015, an unidentified woman reported that she was sexually assaulted in the town of Yountville in Napa County, California. According to authorities, additional DNA testing eventually returned the profile of a 37-year-old Kyle Joseph Robinson of Louisa County.

On Saturday, July 12, Napa County deputies flew to Virginia to meet with detectives with the Louisa County Sheriff's Office. The two agencies then jointly arrested Robinson at his home.
He was hit with four felony charges, including:
- Rape of an unconscious person
- Sodomy of an unconscious victim
- Rpae of an intoxicated person
- Sodomy of an intoxicated person
Robinson was booked with a $500,000 bail arrest warrant. According to authorities, because he waived his state extradition rights, Napa County deputies were able to take him back to California immediately.
