Male shot multiple times in Colonial Heights park, suspect on the run
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A male victim was shot multiple times on a boat ramp in a Colonial Heights park Wednesday night, with police saying the person who shot him is on the run.
At about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were called to White Bank Park for report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male victim near the boat ramp who had multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators determined that a suspect dressed in all-black approached the victim at the boat ramp and fired multiple shots, hitting the victim "several times."
The suspect then went to the parking lot, where they encountered someone who was parking his vehicle. According to police, the suspect shot at this person, but they missed.
After this, the suspect left the area in a dark-colored SUV. Police continue to search for them as of the time of reporting.
