Man arrested after Petersburg Police reportedly find narcotics in his possession during traffic stop

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The Petersburg Bureau of Police has arrested a 33-year-old man after narcotics were allegedly found to be in his possession during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday, March 26, Petersburg Police officers came into contact with 33-year-old Kerri Omar Dennis during a traffic stop in the 300 block of St. Luke Street.

According to police, Dennis was arrested after a firearm and narcotics were reportedly found to be in his possession.

Dennis has been charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in the possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities said Dennis was taken to Riverside Regional Jail, where he was later released on a secure bond.
