Man arrested, charged with online solicitation of a minor in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 56-year-old Fredericksburg man was charged with multiple counts of online solicitation of a minor in Albemarle County on Thursday.

On Thursday, April 24, officers with the Albemarle County Police Department, which is part of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SOVA-ICAC), conducted an online operation focused on what they say is "the solicitation of minors."

During this operation, 56-year-old Grady M. Hampton of Fredericksburg, was arrested and charged with three counts of online solicitation of a minor under 15 years old in Albemarle County.

County police are currently investigating this incident.

Hampton is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
