Man found dead with gunshot wound in Richmond’s Southside

(WRIC) -- A man was found dead with a gunshot wound in Richmond's Southside Wednesday morning. At 4:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 2800 block of Broad Rock Boulevard in the city's Southside for the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man who had a gunshot wound lying on the ground. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene. As police responded to the scene, they received a call for sounds of gunfire at the 5000 block of Snead Road. Police said it is believed that the man was shot on Snead Road, and was likely then dropped off at Broad Rock Boulevard before leaving the scene. Officials also said there may be a possibility of additional victims, but no one has arrived at any local hospitals with gunshot wounds. Broad Rock Boulevard was closed in both directions to accommodate the investigation, but all lanes have since opened to traffic. This is a developing story, stay with 8News for updates.
