Man seriously hurt after fall at Prince George construction site

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man is seriously hurt after he fell at a construction site in Prince George County on Tuesday.

At about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, crews with Prince George County Fire and EMS were called to a home under construction on Chappell Pond Crossing for a report of a traumatic injury.

When they arrived, first responders found a man who had fallen at the construction site. He had serious injuries.

The site was located at the base of a hill, according to fire officials. In order to rescue the man from the bottom of such an embankment, crews needed to call in additional resources.

The Crater Regional Technical Rescue Team was activated to assist fire crews in getting the man out. By 1:56 p.m., he was successfully freed by rescue personnel.

The man was flown to a local trauma center via medical helicopter. Fire officials could not provide more up-to-date information on his condition.

"Prince George Fire and EMS would like to thank all responding agencies for their quick actions and teamwork in ensuring the best possible outcome for the patient," fire officials said.
