Man wanted in Petersburg murder arrested in North Carolina
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- After several months of searching, a man wanted in connection with an early June deadly shooting in Petersburg was found and arrested in North Carolina.
On Tuesday, June 3, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the 2300 block of Navajo Court. He later died.
While police still have not identified the victim, by June 27, they had identified the suspect accused of shooting and killing him: 25-year-old T'Assir Kobi Scott.
Nearly five months later, on Monday, Oct 20, police announced that Scott was taken into custody in Catawba County, North Carolina.

He has been charged with second-degree murder, the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and the possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
Scott is being held pending his next court appearance.
This arrest was made in collaboration with the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and law enforcement agencies in Catawba.
