Man’s body found in James River, Henrico police investigating

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has launched a death investigation after a body was found in the James River south of Rocketts Landing.

At 1:14 p.m. on Friday, March 6, first responders with Henrico Police and Henrico Fire were called to the 5600 block of Old Osborne Turnpike for a reported medical emergency in the James River.

"With assistance from Henrico Fire, crews located and recovered a deceased adult male," a statement from Henrico Public Safety reads.

Detectives with the Henrico County Police Division's Criminal Investigation Section will now work with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to identify the person and determine their cause of death.
