Mid-week freezing temperatures to hit Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Central Virginians are about to experience a bit of weather whiplash as we go from multiple 80-degree days to a night of below-freezing temperatures on Tuesday, April 8.

Starting late Tuesday night and going into the morning hours of Wednesday, April 9, a freeze watch will be in effect for virtually all Central Virginia localities.

While this dip in temperature may shock you, it promises to shock anything that's been planted even more. StormTracker8 chief meteorologist John Bernier cautions that those who have taken to early spring planting will likely see those crops or flowers damaged by this freeze.
