Missing Henrico man found dead over 7 months after disappearance

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A missing 48-year-old Henrico County man was found dead in Suffolk more than seven months after his initial disappearance.
On Thursday, May 8, the Henrico County Police Division issued a missing adult alert for 48-year-old Gerard Anthony Harvell of Henrico. Police said he'd been last heard from at about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29.
More than seven months later, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, police announced that Harvell had been found dead in Suffolk.
"The Henrico County Police Division is assisting the Suffolk Police Department with its criminal investigation," police said.

No additional information, such as the circumstances of Harvell's death or exactly why it is being investigated as criminal in nature, was provided by police.
The Suffolk Police Department continues to investigate this incident.
