Motorcyclist fighting for life after vehicle pulls out in front of them in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A motorcyclist is fighting for their life after police say a vehicle pulled out in front of them in Chesterfield County on Thursday.

At about 8:49 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to the intersection of Genito and Watercove roads for report of a crash.

Investigators determined that the motorcyclist was moving west on Genito Road when a vehicle pulling out of the nearby Chesterfield County Fire & EMS Swift Creek Station 16 stopped at the intersection, did not see the motorcyclist and pulled out in front of them.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other driver was not hurt.

A police spokesperson told 8News that charges are pending. No further information is available as of the time of reporting.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has the area surrounding the crash closed and said closures will remain in place for multiple hours.
