Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash that closed Route 10 West in Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash that closed the westbound lanes of Route 10 in Chesterfield County on Friday afternoon.
According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, a motorcyclist was traveling west on Route 10 when he approached Womack Road on Friday, Nov. 7. A white Nissan Altima pulled out from Womack Road onto Route 10.
The motorcyclist hit the driver's side of the Altima. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Altima was not injured in the crash, per police.
The Chesterfield County Police Department Crash Team is currently on scene of the crash.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said all westbound lanes of Route 10 are closed at this time. Police added that these lanes will remain closed for three to four hours.
