New Kent crash near Emmaus Church Road leaves one person with serious injuries

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A two vehicle crash in New Kent County has left one person with serious injuries on Saturday, May 10.
At around 3:52 p.m. Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the 1900 block of Emmaus Church Road in New Kent County.
One of the vehicles involved was a motorcycle, and according to police, the driver of the motorcycle was flown by medevac for treatment involving serious injuries.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), all travel lanes on Emmaus Church Road are closed with a detour near Barnett Road and Wiant Lane. Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detour alternate route to avoid delays.
Troopers are still on the scene and investigating the incident.
