New party-style fitness bootcamp arrives in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Fit-X, a new party-style fitness bootcamp, has arrived in Richmond, and its founder gave 8News Anchors the opportunity to try out some exercises on Friday.
In the morning on Friday, Oct. 24, Ishmael Sandiford, founder of Fit-X, along with trainers Angelina Hart and Te'Shard Hollywood, spoke with 8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Madison Moore about the bootcamp.
"Fit-X is the fun side of fitness," Sandiford said. "We bring in everybody together -- various trainers from all over, giving you a different taste of vibes and exercises, music, DJs, the whole nine."
Sandiford explained that he has been a trainer for over 10 years, and he has experienced the fitness culture in several cities throughout the U.S.
With that in mind, Sandiford said he wanted to bring the fitness culture to Richmond, encouraging folks to get active, all while having fun.
Sandiford and his trainers gave a quick overview of exercises involving squats and other movements, which the whole group performed in synch, including Moore -- in heels, no less!
Fit-X's next bootcamp will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 at Iron Legend Gym, located at 3310 Rosedale Avenue, Unit B in Richmond. Attendees are encouraged to wear burgundy.
