No. 15 Randolph-Macon Football advances to third round of DIII NCAA playoffs

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- No. 15 Randolph-Macon defeated No. 23 Washington and Jefferson 38-22 during the second round of the NCAA Championship at Day Field on Saturday. Junior Mitchell Johnson rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns while junior Jason Moore had 125 receiving yards and one score as the Yellow Jackets recovered from a 14-0 first-quarter deficit and scored 24 points in the second quarter to take a 24-14 lead into halftime. The Yellow Jackets would go on to add 21 more points in the second half to win 38-22. Randolph-Macon will play at No. 3 Salisbury at noon on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the third round of the NCAA Championship.
