One man is dead after a traffic collision in Henrico County’s Three Chopt District
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Henrico Police are investigating a crash that left one man dead on Monday, April 28.
At 8:35 p.m. on Monday, April 28, the Henrico County Police Division received reports of a pedestrian crash on the intersection of West Broad Street and Pemberton Road. Once officers were on the scene, they found a man on the road with "obvious signs of trauma" who was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim was identified as 60-year-old Thomas Wayne Bodden, according to police.
According to Henrico Police, the preliminary investigation suggests that Bodden was crossing West Broad Street when he was hit by an SUV which caused him to fall into another lane, and was then struck by another vehicle.
Both drivers involved stayed on the scene, and according to police, they are cooperating with the investigation.
As of right now, police say that both alcohol and dark clothing are believed to be factors in the crash, on behalf of the pedestrian.
