One person dead after Louisa house fire

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person has died following a house fire in Louisa County early Tuesday morning.

At around 4:48 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, the Louisa County Department of Fire and EMS responded to a house fire on Oakley Lane. When crews arrived, the structure was in flames.

In a social post from the county's Facebook page, officials confirmed that one person died and another person was treated for smoke inhalation at the home.

The American Red Cross is working to help the displaced homeowners and residents as officials continue to investigate what caused the fire.
