One person left with serious injuries after falling into a creek in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person is facing serious injuries after falling down an embankment into a creek Sunday afternoon.

According to Chesterfield County Fire and EMS, on Sunday, Oct. 26, crews responded to a rescue call in the 17400 block of Route 1.

When the first firefighter arrived on scene, they found a person who had fallen between 12 and 15 feet down an embankment into a creek below, according to Chesterfield County Fire and EMS.

"Firefighters used a ladder truck and stokes basket to perform an aerial rescue," stated Chesterfield County Fire and EMS.

After the victim was taken out of the creek o safety the induvial was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
