Oscar Mayer Wienermobile rolls into Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is rolling into Richmond this week, with events planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Grill 'Em Up Ellie and her co-pilot Pickle Pip are bringing the beloved Oscar Mayer Wienermobile to Richmond for three events starting Thursday, April 10 and ending Saturday, April 12.

Wienermobile enthusiasts who come out to any of these events can take pictures, tour the vehicle and even receive a "Wiener Whistle," a whistle shaped like the Wienermobile.

Friday's event will function as a supply drive for Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) and, on Saturday, the Wienermobile will join runners for the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k.

Here's the schedule:

  • 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10: "Bubbles and Blooms"
    • 4305 Sulgrave Rd.
  • 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11: "Hotdogs & Hounds Donation and Adoption Event"
    • Richmond Animal Care and Control, 1600 Chamberlayne Ave.
    • Attendees are asked to bring donations for RACC, like food, supplies, toys, bedding and more.
  • 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12: Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K
    • 100 Avenue of Champions
