Over 1,000 Verizon Wireless subscribers could be impacted in Hanover County

Correction: Hanover has since sent an update saying that there was the potential for an outage, no customers actually went without service.

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- More than 1,400 Verizon Wireless subscribers in Hanover County could be without service Friday afternoon.

At 1 p.m. on Friday, May 2, a spokesperson for Hanover County said Verizon had advised that a site is out of service, which has the potential to impact 1,411 Verizon Wireless subscribers in the Montpelier area.

According to the spokesperson, those who are affected by the service interruption and are in need of emergency services are advised to use a landline phone.

Officials said updates on the situation will be provided as the county receives them.
