Part of Whitmore Road in Dinwiddie to close for flood damage repairs

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A part of Whitmore Road in Dinwiddie County is closed until further notice due to flood damage repairs as of Friday morning.

The part of Whitmore Road between Gills Bridge Road and Cryors Road will be closed until further notice due to flood damage assessments and repairs, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

While people will still have access to their property throughout the project, drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detours:

  • Westbound Traffic: Travel north on Old Cryors Road (Route 40), to Gills Bridge Road (Route 613), turn left and travel south to Whitmore Road (Route 651).
  • Eastbound Traffic: Travel north on Gills Bridge Road (Route 613) to Old Cryors Road (Route 40), turn right and travel south to Whitmore Road (Route 651).
