Person dead after being shot in domestic-related incident in Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person is dead after police said they were shot Wednesday evening in a domestic-related incident in Chesterfield County.
At 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to the 8800 block of Pepperidge Road for the report of a burglary in progress.
While officers were responding to the address, they were reportedly advised that a male had been shot.
When police arrived at the scene, they gave first aid to the male and took him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the investigation indicates that both the alleged shooter and the victim knew each other, and the incident is domestic related.
"There is no ongoing threat to the community currently," officials said.
